Children’s Books About Numbers

It’s never too early to teach your little one to start counting. These recommended children’s books about numbers will help you do just that.

Children's Books About NumbersOnce I had gotten my twins reading books about letters and the alphabet, the next thing to do was to introduce them to numbers and math activities. They recognized letters pretty well, but would they do the same with numbers?

Sure, they recited “one, two, three” (or some cute variation of it), but I wanted them to get a hang of various math concepts.

As usual, I turned to children’s books about numbers — fun ones with the simple purpose of introducing numbers and counting along.

Ten, Night, Eight is a sweet book from my cousin that quickly became a family favorite.  Five Little Monkeys is a great story with a familiar rhyme. And One Is a Snail, Ten Is a Crab is an engaging book about counting animal feet.

These also include children’s books about numbers past 10. Because at some point, kids will recite one to ten easily. They may even get the concept of number values up to 10. That’s when you can start challenging them to count even more, and these books will help you do just that.

Take a look at these books to make teaching numbers fun for you and your toddler:
