Heard of The Gruffalo or Stick Man? These are just some of the children’s books by Julia Donaldson your kids will love (includes crafts!).
Julia Donaldson entered our lives so gradually that I don’t even remember the first book of hers we read. If I had to guess, it was either Room on a Broom or Where’s My Mom? Only later did I realize that the books I happened to like were all written by the same person.
Not that it’s subtle. Axel Sheffler illustrates these books with the same style, and Donaldson has a signature cadence to her rhymes that’s fun to read aloud.
Once I realized she was writing all those books I liked, I borrowed more from the library. And I wasn’t the only big fan: my kids request her books over and over.
Below are 10 books by Julia Donaldson my kids and I have read and enjoyed. On some of them, I’ve included links to crafts or games specific to that book. I hope you enjoy them as well!
