Most-Loved Bath Time Books for Babies and Toddlers
These bath time books for babies and toddlers are perfect for introducing your child to the bathtub or calming fears about taking a bath.
Giving my son a bath felt like wrestling. Or cajoling. Or trying to keep my sanity while convincing him that water will not do anything bad to him.
Never mind that he had been fine—excited, even—about taking a bath all this time. But suddenly, he wouldn’t even go near the bathroom.
What do you when your toddler feels scared of the bath? One thing I did was get waterproof bath books he could take with him to the tub. Something to keep him occupied while I suds him up.
But I also needed to find bath time books to help ease his fears. Regular books about taking a bath to show the experience in a positive way.
I’ve long been a fan of reading children’s books for any issue our kiddos are going through—including getting through bath time anxieties.
With a good book, young children can relate to other characters who also refuse to bathe, and what they did to overcome their fears. They can read about bath time fun and see how enjoyable (and harmless!) it really is.
Below are a few recommendations of picture books to get your little one to learn more about bathtime. To help her realize that everyone takes a bath, that it can be lots of fun, and that her feelings are valid. Hopefully soon, she’ll come to enjoy bath time once again.
